The M Word: To M or NOT to M

In the quiet of night, I sit and reflect,
On the path I should take, and what to expect.
Will marriage arrive, or is it a dream?
Is love like a river or just a mere stream?

They say it's a duty, they say it's my fate,
To marry, to love, before it's too late.
But is it my heart or is it a rule?
Do I seek love divine, or just play the fool?

In 2024, do traditions survive?
Are there girls of old values still keeping it alive?
With faith in the Lord, and purity kept,
Or has the world changed while the righteous ones slept?

My faith holds me steady, my steps remain pure,
Celibacy a path that helps me endure.
The whispers of flesh, they call from afar,
But I keep my eyes fixed on a much higher star.

I long for a love that's built on the Word,
Not on fleeting emotions, or lies that I've heard.
Is it still worth the wait? Is it part of God's plan?
To marry a woman and live as a man?

Or is it just culture, an obligation to meet,
That ties me to vows but leaves me incomplete?
I pray for an answer, I seek out the truth,
To live in God's honor, as I did in my youth.

So I wait on His voice, I wait on His sign,
For marriage, or peace, or something divine.
